Owls are a species of wildlife in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds and Horizon Forbidden West. When killed, they drop loot valuable to merchants and needed for several crafting recipes.
Description[]
Owls will not attack or cause any harm to Aloy. They are commonly found flying along the edges of forests and rivers across the Cut, or infrequently found walking in woody regions in the Forbidden West.
They can usually be seen flying across the woods or perched on tree branches. When perched, they will make easily identifiable "hoot" noises. They tend to congregate around the Banuk fishing camp at the western edge of the Cut.
Loot acquired[]
When killed, owls will drop common items such as various types of meat but sometimes will drop either Owl Skin or Owl Bone, both very valuable items that are useful for trading with merchants.
